big-yogaFor Yoga Teachers and serious practitioners. People come in all shapes and sizes. Learn how to adapt your classes to accommodate people whose bodies are simply “bigger”. Meera’s method of adapting yoga for bigger bodies has made the health benefits of a yoga practice available to many who may have otherwise thought they could never do even the most simple poses.

Big Yoga is an adapted Hatha practice for the larger body.  Meera’s book, Big Yoga:  A Simple Guide for Bigger Bodies, explores over 40 different poses, making them more comfortable for plus-size yogis and yoginis, and features pictures of Meera, who, according to a review in Yoga Plus “ Meera models the poses beautifully”.

We will also explore other components of Yoga—Bhakti, Jnana, and Raja Yoga—and will use the Patanjali Sutras to discover ways to mitigate the negative thinking that can come as a result of being plus-size.
